Happy New Year

With the new year on its way, it’s time to think of our training goals again. 😉 As always, continuing to work on Risa’s dog reactivity and fears are high on the list. But there’s time for other fun stuff too.

I am hoping to complete her AKC rally RN title this month. We’re entered in a two day trial and, assuming she Qs in both runs, she’ll have it! Once she has her RN, we might consider going for an RA or starting in APDT rally-o.

Once the weather clears up, I am hoping to find a good location to do some filming and work on completing her WCFO Freestyle Novice title (we just need two more qualifying legs). Or, if we can find a trial held reasonably close by, we’ll trial live again. 🙂

Though she is getting older, I would like to try and find an agility class to enroll her in. After all, I adopted her hoping to compete in agility. I know she’d enjoy it, even if we don’t ever end up trialing.

I’m also hoping to get her out lure coursing more this spring/summer/fall. She clearly LOVES it and I love watching her run to her heart’s content.

Most importantly, I hope to just spend lots of time with her and some of our friends. Here’s to an outstanding 2011!

About Jamie

I'm just a traditionally-trained artist with interests in dog training. I currently teach classes at the local obedience training club (tricks, freestyle, and Rally-FrEe) and I also teach classes professionally for an organization who helps veterans train their own service dogs.
